LONG-TIME TRUSTEE RETIRES

Jean L. Leipold, a Library Life Trustee for more than fifteen years, retired last Autumn and now resides in central Florida. She served as the President of the Library's Board of Trustees three times, and at other times served as the Library Board's Vice President and Treasurer. During her tenure on the Library Board, she helped solve numerous crises and was tireless in her support of the Library.

As President of the Friends of the Library, in 1981, she helped raise funds to keep the Library from closing. The prestigious organization, Pennsylvania Citizens for Better Libraries, presented their Award of Merit to the Friends of the Andrew Carnegie Free Library on October 15, 1981 "as the most effective library citizen support group"!

By a unanimous vote, the Library Board of Trustees conferred the title of Trustee Emeritus upon Ms. Leipold, on October 26, 1999. Trustees, Advisors, Staff, and Volunteers of the Andrew Carnegie Free Library wish Jean a wonderful retirement!
