Besides approving a $145,800 operating and maintenance budget for 1998
the Andrew Carnegie Free Library Board made many decisions during its
annual meeting last week.
First motion of order for the Life Trustees was to appoint a new
trustee
to fill the spot left by the resignation of Robert Valeriano. The
trustees
voted to appoint John Nolte, owner of Nolte Business Services, Inc.,
Carnegie, to the position.
"My goal is to strengthen the overall financial position of the
library
via the contacts I have established and aid in the administration of
funds,
operating environment and helping to define the path for the next century
of service to the community," Nolte wrote in his letter of intent to the
Library Board.
The Board then voted to accept a resignation from Life Trustee Dan
Duvall and start the search for a new replacement.
Officers for the upcoming year were also voted on.
The elected officers are president, Betsy Martin; vice president, Jean
Leipold; secretary, Glenn Walsh and treasurer, John Nolte.
