Carnegie, Pa., Dec. 6 - The Andrew Carnegie Free Library's annual holiday party for children will be on Saturday, December 11 at 1:00 p.m. at the Library, 300 Beechwood Avenue in Carnegie Borough.

Miss Kelly, the Library's new Children's Coordinator, will present a storytime regarding the traditions of the Christmas holiday. There will also be crafts the children can make, for Christmas gifts. Games and holiday music will also be part of this annual holiday tradition at the Library.

The Library's holiday party is free-of-charge to all children in Carnegie and the Chartiers Valley. Parents and other family members are also welcome to attend.

The same day, the Andrew Carnegie Free Library will hold its annual Christmas book sale, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. All books, magazines, and other items in the Library's Bookstore will sell at a large discount. All proceeds, from the Discount Bookstore, are used to maintain library services for residents of Carnegie and the Chartiers Valley.

The Andrew Carnegie Free Library opened as the fourth free public library constructed and endowed by the philanthropist Andrew Carnegie, on May 1, 1901. In addition to the Library, the cultural complex includes a 788-seat, acoustically-perfect Music Hall(patterned after Carnegie Hall in New York City), 140-seat Lecture Hall, Civil War Museum, small in-town park, and discount bookstore.
